Who isn’t looking for an asylum from the current news? Lately, scrolling through my social feeds is an assault. Red feed, blue feed, it has become difficult to even desire to play in the Facebook sandbox. I actually miss friends “facebragging” posts about their kid’s academic accomplishments and sports victories.
This month, I plan on escaping it all in the new Netflix documentary series Abstract: The Art of Design. The series features a broad selection of visionary creatives, and focuses on their creative process, their work, and how their innovative designs have profoundly affected our every day lives. Highlighted in the eight part docu-series are designers Paula Scher, Christoph Niemann, Platon, Tinker Hatfield, Ralph Giles, Bjarke Ingels, Ilse Crawford, and Es Devlin. An incredible line-up from such a broad variety of disciplines.
I literally can not wait. These are my people, and I need to be inspired. I am in!
The series starts streaming on February 10 on Netflix.
