ER Studio

artfulwrappable
November 19, 2016

The beautiful work of Los Angeles-based ceramicist and graphic designer Eric Roinestad.

Roinestad, a award-winning graphic designer with clients primarily in the music, entertainment, and fashion industries, recently launched ER Studio to focus on his new passion -hand-crafted ceramic objects.

Would like my family to note I could handle one of the stunning aloe vera pieces for Christmas.

Grey Steps, Grey Scales, Grey Ladders

November 6, 2016

My favorite design classes at ArtCenter were all the color theory courses. Even before that, I have always had a thing for Josef Albers’ work. His book The Interaction of Color is the bible for artists and designers studying color.

Lately my feed has been popping up with a lot of his studies of the color grey. The reason? There is an exhibition at David Zwirner in NYC running through December 17. Perhaps I need to fly home with my middlest when she departs NYU for the holiday break? Scheming to get up there and see this.

The Crown Must Win

November 5, 2016

The Crown on Netflix is worthy of a whole Saturday or Sunday shut-in. It’s everything I love and miss about England – sacrifice, duty before love, foggy bogs and marshes, plaid, tea sandwiches, the color gray, Spode china, more plaid and the monarchy.

India Mahdavi for Ladurée

November 3, 2016

I love when interior and graphic design collide with one of my favorite places.

The luxurious work of Paris-based India Mahdavi for Ladurée inside the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues in Geneva is a total visual delight. Everything from the lavender and green palette of the tea room, patisserie and restaurant to the circular and graphic packaging is sublime and on point for the luxury brand.

And to make things more exciting…Opening tomorrow is the CIEL de Macarons which by the looks of India’s Instagram post this morning is a divine new space for the brand.

I am obsessed with her work. It’s luxurious, bold, colorful, nomadic, joyful and chic!
